There was no school in Nawalgarh upto year 1900.

In 1901 Sri Joharmal Jalan(JMJ), started first school of Sanskrit in Gangamai temple in Nawalgarh.

In 1907, JMJ along with some distinguished residents of Nawalgarh formed a public charitable society “Shree Nawalgarh Vidyalaya Committee, Kolkata”. Same year JMJ started primary school at Gangamai temple, Nawalgarh.

In 1911 on the occasion of birth of his first male child Shubhkaran Jalan (SKJ), JMJ purchased a haveli at Nansa gate, Nawalgarh from Late Sambhu Khan and donated same to Shree Nawalgarh Vidyalaya Committee and started a primary and upper middle classes up to 8th class.

In 1932, JMJ along with distinguished residents of Nawalgarh, converted and registered above public charitable society to “Shree Nawalgarh Vidyalaya Committee, Kolkata” under West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860, Registration No. 5167 of 1931-32 dated: 13/03/1932.

In 1935, Late Rawal Madansinghji, Ruler of Nawalgarh donated land 13000 sq. yard at Ramdevda, Nawalgarh to Shree Nawalgarh Vidyalaya Committee Kolkata for construction of a school building and starting of Senior Secondary School in Nawalgarh.

In 1938, with generous donations from expatriate residence of Nawalgarh residing in Kolkata, Mumbai, Madras & Hyderabad, constructed school building and Senior Secondary School was started.

In 1985, Primary school was transferred to Ramdevda building of Senior Secondary School.
It was, then decided to start a women’s college with courses of BA, BCom, BSc and MA, MCom and MSc to promote higher education
